St. Mark’s Basilica

Unless you get there early, be prepared to wait in a sometimes lengthy queue to get into the Basilica.  Once inside, you will marvel at the golden mosaics.   If you are prepared to wait, admission to the main part of the church is free, but you can book in advance in summer months and skip the general queue – visit website.

You will see people walking around the terrace of the Basilica.  To go here, you will need to buy a ticket for St. Mark’s Museum.  A small fee is also payable if you wish to view the Pala d’Oro, Chancel and Treasury.

You will need to store any bag you may be carrying in a facility around the corner.  Full practical details are here.
