On the other side of St Mark’s Square from the Florian, this is another historic and beautiful café. There has been a café here since 1638, with the current interior largely dating from the 1830s. The current owners have injected new life into the café and run a Michelin starred restaurant on the first floor (the only restaurant in St Mark’s Square). A coffee can be had at the bar for no more than you would pay at any other café, which is extremely reasonable and attracts locals as a result. It has a beautiful salon and, of course, a terrace outside. The room where the café is situated is quite small, with limited seating. However, it is very authentic and reasonably priced.
Type of food:
Coffee, pastries, spritz, cicchetti etc.
A café latte at the bar costs €2.60. Like all cafes on St. Mark’s Square, being seated on the terrace is very expensive, so ensure you are happy with the cost of sitting outside before you order.
Every day, 9am to midnight.
