Out & About


What looks like a solid strip of land across the Giudecca Canal from the “main part” of Venice is actually a series of islands linked by a series of bridges.  Much like the “main part” of Venice.

You get lovely views of St. Mark’s Square and the Salute church from here and makes for a quiet break from the crowds on the “mainland”.

It developed initially as a fishing outpost, then farming followed in later years by the development of factories, warehouses and a very large flour mill, now the Hilton Molino Stucky.
