Gardens and Green Spaces in San Marco

There are the Royal Gardens close to St. Mark’s Square, visible from the vaporetto as you pull into the San Marco vaporetto stop.  Just a few benches and trees, but some welcome greenness nonetheless.

There is also a small garden at Palazzo Franchetti, which is right by the Accademia Bridge.

For more extensive greenery, the Napoleonic Gardens which house the Biennale showground in the further reaches of the Castello district, are the largest green spaces in Venice.
