Pizzeria Casein dei Nobili

If you have just arrived into Venice and would like a low key and inexpensive option of pizza and a salad, I can recommend this pizzeria near Campo Santa Margherita.
Home to the magnificent Salute Church and connected to the San Marco district by the Accademia Bridge. Fondamenta del Zattere is a welcome and spacious walkway with lovely views over to Giudecca island. Many of Venice’s most visited museums are here, my slightly against the crowd recommendations being the magnificent Ca’ Rezzonico and the smaller Palazzo Cini.

This tiny take away pizza outlet in Campo Santa Margherita was recommended to me by a local Italian teacher.
You need to buy an entry ticket to the museum itself to access the café here.
Standing room only in this characterful old café close to the Accademia Gallery and Peggy Guggenheim museum.
Zatters is the long walkway all along the back of Dorsoduro which has wonderful views across the wide Giudecca Canal over to Giudecca.
This is a small and dinky pasticceria with standing room only.
It really is worth forgoing the nasty heaped icecream offerings found in the main tourist areas for Grom’s fabulous ice cream.
A café popular with locals from early morning.
