Participating churches in the Chorus Scheme of Churches (details here) are:
- Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari (“Frari” church)
- San Polo
Together with the church of San Rocco, these are the standout churches in San Polo and are in areas you are likely to be passing through, if you are visiting this part of Venice. The Frari church is absolutely vast and you wonder how they build this in the 1400s.
The church of San Polo is in Campo San Polo which is a lovely (relatively) quiet square frequented by locals.
The nearby church of San Rocco has an amazing alterpiece and worth calling in to visit if you are visiting the nearby Scuola Grande of San Rocco which houses the best collection of Tintorettos in the city.
Below is a gallery of photos of churches in the district.
